Big Fat Ugly Me

Posted by Joshua under life in general

With my new medication I have gained a lot an awful lot actually and that is because of it boosts up your appetite triple times! Imagine, you are like someone who’s expecting twins and just simply couldn’t stop eating because you are always hungry. When I visited my neurologist for follow-up check up she said that I could stop taking the med at month’s end and I wanted to whoop for joy! The first thing that I’m gonna do is to purchase discount appetite suppressants and start exercising and eating healthy like crazy. Maybe I really should start walking sometime soon to speed up my weight loss goal.

An Unfair Bargain

Posted by Joshua under life in general

I was prescribed to drink a certain drug for my cerebral vasospasm. And as discussed by my neurologist some of its common side effects are drowsiness and/or fatigue, as well as weight gain and/or increased appetite may occur. And true enough I have gained more than I should and I feel like eating every 2 hours. I feel like I’m always lacking of energy as well. Maybe that is one of the reasons why I’m not being that productive this past month. At least the particular drug I’m taking put these reactions in the leaflet included in the box. I remember my uncle talking about Crestor lawsuit when the medicine is supposed to lower cholesterol that can help prevent heart disease and hardening of the arteries, conditions that can lead to heart attack, stroke, and vascular disease but caused kidney failure in some of the patients. That was a scary thought. Imagine that your sole purpose in taking the drug is to get well but then in the process you lose your kidneys to it. That is a very unfair bargain. You get some and lose more.

My Two Passions

Posted by Joshua under life in general

You know when I feel like my spirits are low and I’m down in the dumps, the one thing that cheers me up aside from the sweet smile from my daughter is make-up. Even if I’m physically ill, I just hold my brushes and touch my palettes and I feel like I’m slowly getting better already. My one dream, two dreams actually is to be a novelist fisrt and foremost and secondly is to enroll in a cosmetology school and be a successful make-up artist some day. When that time comes I know that I’d be happiest because I finally found my two passions: writing and make-up. Now, what do I do about these dreams of mine? I’m currently trapped in a rut and I don’t know how to get out of it. Yup, boring office work that’s what I’m pertaining to. I don’t have a choice but to stick to my current mundane job since it’s my bread and butter. I just can’t wait for that “one day” when all my dreams will be realized.

What’s Your Alibi?

Posted by Joshua under life in general

One boring Sunday I wanted hubby and I to do the DVD Marathon. Of course, you can’t expect me to do the real marathon because for sure after running for just 50 meters I’d be panting like a dog already. Yes, I’m very lethargic and yes I lead a very sedentary lifestyle. I know it’s not good for me but don’t you worry very soon that would change. But for now, let me tell you first my couch potato story. So as I was saying, we were running out of movies to watch until I saw the DVDs my brother from Ireland brought home. I wanted to watch my All-time fave Lord of the Rings Trilogy but to my surprise it won’t play at all. Hubby mentioned about NTSC-PAL converter whatever that means and I’m instatntly reminded of his animated conversation with my brother a week ago about dvi to hdmi cables that when I started listening to them I instantly became Narcoleptic, hahaha! I dozed off. So when hubby began reciting a litany about conversion, I told him that I’ll make us a delicious sandwich and he did not seem to notice that I was evading the convo. That’s because I have thought of an alibi that is hard to resist, hahaha!

Good Ole Times

Posted by Joshua under life in general

Once a year my family and I always go on a road trip. It’s so much fun especially that we get to cover a lot of places, eat food that we have never tried before, reminisce the good ole days and the greatest part of the trip, is we get to meet lots of new faces. Some just last for the duration of the trip and some friendships built last for a lifetime. Anyhoo, before I go all sappy here, I forgot to mention that every year we always meet a road mishap as well. Nothing serious but be it a flat tire, running out of gasoline, engine trouble or what have you we are and forever will be grateful to being members of the roadside assistance club. We just don’t know what we’d do without them.

Thank God For Friends!

Posted by Joshua under life in general

I was hospitalized for 5 days due to Vasospasm. It refers to a condition in which blood vessels spasm, leading to constriction. The main reason is stress, second is food containing amines or caffeine and last is lack of sleep. Yes, I’m stressed out and been battling insomnia for years but I am not much of a coffee or tea drinker really. I’m a chocoholic though and sadly it can be one of the culprits too. So I have to cut back on chocolates though I don’t know how I’d be able to do that but I’ll try if that would stop these killer headaches of mine. Anyway, my friends visited me at the hospital and with them is the most beautifully decorated gift basket drop shipping. It made me forget about my ailment for a while and really appreciate their thoughtfulness and sweetness. Thank God for friends like I have. :-)

One Excited Aunt

Posted by Joshua under life in general

A few more months and there will be two new happy additions to our already big family. We are so excited for the coming of my sister in law’s twins! She’s just 6 months pregnant but we are already racking our brains on what to give for her surprise baby shower party. I’m thinking of getting her swing sets for the twins. I know that it is still too early for them to use it but what can I do? I’m just one excited Aunt that can’t wait for them to grow up.

Only Second Best

Posted by Joshua under life in general

I’m sure you can all relate to me when I tell you that men talk about their cars more than they talk about their wives or girlfriends. When asked about how they are with their lovers, they would just tell you a thing or two about them then that’s it. But when you strike up a conversation about cars they could go on, and on and on. It seems that they will never run out of things to say about their objects of affection. Sad but true. And we sort of accepted the fact that we are only second best compared to their most favorite thing in the world. That’s why yesterday when hubby was yakking about 22 wheels, I was just pseudo listening and it seems that he did not notice it at all. All he needed was a nod or a grunt to go on and on and on.

Hide and Seek

Posted by Joshua under life in general

I feel like kids nowadays are getting smarter and smarter each day. I overheard my 19 year old nephew talking to his friend on the phone and was talking about backpacking. But his friend must have disagreed and suggested geocaching instead. When I first heard the word, I was thinking what it could have meant. I had no inkling as to what it was all about. That’s why I have researched about it and found out that it’s like a Hide and Seek game but instead of finding another person, you’ll be looking for a thing hidden somewhere in the world using a GPS. Yes, that’s how it is. Travelling to different countries might be needed to play the game right. Before he put down the phone, the last that he said was about chirp outdoor adventures. I better start researching for it then to understand what’s that got to do with geocaching. Kids, you really have to keep up with them to understand them better.

Missing In Action

Posted by Joshua under life in general

We did a little office supplies inventory yesterday. What triggered it was when I was looking for a pen the other day and couldn’t find any. I just don’t understand why after buying boxes and boxes of pens, we still run out of it especially when we need one. We are depleted of sticky notes as well and another thing that is essential to our business, barcode scanners. I will never ever understand where all our barcode scanners have gone. It’s always MIA (Missing in Action). I think we have to install hidden CCTV cameras in the office to catch the culprit.
