A Chronicler's Life

Wish It’s Sooner

Posted by Joshua under life in general

I love bags (and shoes, clothes and accessories) but most especially bags. I love collecting different colors, shapes, types and textures. I love having my outfit color coordinated with my bag. I have my personal favorite of course of all the many bags that I have. The first one that I bought is in color Red, then Brown and White and now I want another Brown. I’m talking about Beyonce’s dereon. I love each and every detail on my Dereon bags. It’s unique, fresh and just simply glam. I’m still saving up for the one that I am eyeing on now but I will definitely have it soon. I just hope that it’s sooner than I think.

Crossing the Bridge

Posted by Joshua under life in general

I heard from the grapevine that a lot of us in the office will be getting the boot soon. Whatever the reason is, be it because of non-performing employees or cost cutting it is still a very dreadful thought for me. Especially that I have grown to love this company which I have been faithfully serving for 11 years already. I have gained not just colleagues but true friends that I will treasure for a lifetime. But if ever the inevitable does happen then I should start looking for other options. I have always been fascinated with hairs so maybe I’ll get a career in hairstyling. I heard from my cousin that there are really good hair schools in Wichita that I could try enrolling in. Oh, well I”ll just cross the bridge when I get there. But I would really rather not.

Contemplating

Posted by Joshua under life in general

If there’s one thing that I am not really proud of about myself that is my being a spendthrift. When I started working and began to earn my own money, I became a compulsive shopper. Maybe it was because when I was still young, I had a hard life. That it’s only now that I am able to buy anything that my heart desires. Now, I really have plenty of beautiful things but I don’t have a penny saved. When I got married, I thought I will start to think about future but when I saw the pretty little things that I could buy for my little daughter the promise that I made to myself was thrown out the window. Then I started paid blogging 3 years ago aside from my day to day job but as you have guessed it, I still haven’t saved anything from it yet. Thinking of all the opportunities to save that I let pass and all the money that I have earned and wasted, I could already have bought a gold bullion with it. Now, I really would like to take saving seriously. With my sickness and the increasing expenses along with my growing child, I really need to start putting away money for the rainy days. Maybe I should start contemplating about our future with the help of US Gold Bureau.

A Trip to Remember

Posted by Joshua under life in general

I’m giddy with excitement for this coming March 2011. My good friends and I plan to set out on our first ever trip to Korea. We are all Korean actors and entertainers fanatics. I can just imagine how much fun we’ll be having there. We’ll be visiting the different television networks in the hopes that we’ll take a glimpse of our Korean actor crushes. As early as now, we are starting to look for tour packages, our glam outfits and everything that we’ll need for the trip. It’s just too bad that we won’t be able to leave earlier than March because it was part of our original plan to wear our snow boots and plod in the snow. But since it would be Spring already when we get there, will just find something as enjoyable to do then.

Stroke of Luck

Posted by Joshua under life in general

Have you heard of the Filipina domestic helper who inherited 6 million Singaporean dollars from her employer of 20 years? Amazing isn’t it? I mean she must have loved her like a real daughter and vice versa. She even said that she felt sadder when her employer died compared to when she lost her birth mother. They must have established a formidable kind of friendship to leave her that large sum of money. If I were in her shoes, the first thing that I am going to do is to buy gold coins and keep it until it appreciates and that’s the time that I am going to dispose of it. But if that doesn’t happen because of our erratic economy, gold coins can be very valuable to add to my various collections.

Finally, getting hitched!

Posted by Joshua under life in general

My husband received the second wedding invitation for the month. This time one of his childhood buddies is taking the hitch. This buddy of his is not the marrying type (well, that’s what he told both of us) and now he’s getting married to a woman that he just met 8 months ago! Whoa! We told him to take it easy when he spilled to us that he has found the one that he wants to spend the rest of his life with. But who can really fight fate when there is divine intervention already. He met her at one of the many recollections his company holds. We are really happy for him. That’s why this coming weekend, we will be shopping for bow ties for the best man (hubby) and the groomsmen. And of course for my fab outfit.

Money Talk

Posted by Joshua under life in general

My Uncle Jon (Mom’s half bro) came back home after being in the States for more than 20 years. He was so happy to see us. He brought us a lot of presents and stories of his life there. But of course I concentrated more on the beautiful gifts he got us, ha! ha! ;-) I overheard him talking to my Mom about Transunion Settlement. I thought it was another case of inheritance money but from what I have heard it was about a credit reporting company in the 80s that traded classified credit information to marketing companies in the US. And since he is an American Citizen already and he applied credit within the time of 1987 to 2000, he is entitled to monetary damages from a pre-determined 75 million fund! Wow! That’s a lot, if we are already talking about millions of dollars here, right? I even had a hard time doing the math in my head. Of course my Uncle refused to count the chicks before the eggs hatch. It is a long process but he is confident that his lawyers at O’Hanlon, McCollom & Demerath will give justice to the injustice that was done to him decades ago. And I pray for that too.

One of a Kind

Posted by Joshua under life in general

It goes without saying that for every parent a child is the most important person in the world. You just want what’s best for your child and will not settle for anything less. Investing money for your child’s future need not be a tedious or stressful task. In fact, others even do it as a hobby. Some would invest on stocks and some would even go to great lengths and buy gold bullion as an investment product. Gold bullion is a unique asset. And since its value always appreciates and rarely depreciates, it is always a good option. It is also one of the safest forms of investment, even in times of economic ambiguity. That’s why we (hubby and I) think that our child’s future will be oh so bright with this one of a kind investment.

Gold Talk

Posted by Joshua under life in general

Our grandmother who recently died left each of her sons (our fathers) inheritance money. It wasn’t much but just enough to get by. So they are all thinking how to double or triple the money they got by venturing in a business. I suggested why not buy gold coins instead and sell when it’s value shoot up in the market. It’s a very good investment especially that we are in a middle of global crisis. It’s something that they can keep first and sell later when it appreciates. I have advised them to check out US Gold Bureau’s website to know more about this. I do hope they would take my idea seriously.

Morbidity or Practicality?

Posted by Joshua under life in general

My husband’s “paranoia” is striking again. He got mad when he learned that I was browsing through term life insurance quotes one night. He went to sleep ahead of me and thinking that I can freely browse the web without him knowing I looked into it. The next day he knew of it because I forgot to delete it from the History. He pestered me the whole day if there is something that I am not telling him about my sickness. He’s quite weird really because how could it be possible that I know something that he doesn’t when he’s with me every time I go and visit my doctor. He finds it morbid that I am thinking of getting a life insurance and I say it’s practicality that is actually thinking for me.
