On my Uncle Eddie’s 60th birthday celebration this coming weekend, his cousins vowed to make it a birthday to remember. And one of their surprises is a beer keg! My Uncle loves beer. And he loves to drink all the more when he is surrounded by people that he loves and who loves him back. Don’t worry I’ve already reminded the boys about moderate drinking. We were so engrossed in our conversation about the surprises that we have in stored for the celebrator when one of my uncles asked a disconcerting question, “Which one is better ball lock pins or pin locks for the keg?” Duh? That’s my cue to leave the group because I’m completely clueless on what they were talking about. Anyway, Happy Natal Day my dear Uncle!

My uncle works in a construction company. He is the foreman there and he not only supervises the employees but he’s also a very hands-on worker. His job entails great responsibilities and grave dangers as well. It’s not very uncommon of us hearing news about accidents in construction companies like falling debris or a worker on top of a building lost his balance and fell on the ground. Some recuperated from the injuries, some suffered for the rest of their lives and some who were not so fortunate, kicked the bucket. That’s why my uncle never fails to bring his safety equipment to work. As he always say to me “It’s best to be always on the safe side.” And I say he’s never been right.
