Thanks Be To God!
There’s still a whole lot to be thankful for despite the destruction Ondoy a.k.a Ketsana has left Greater Metro Manila. At the onset, I’m very thankful that my friends Richard and Claire are okay. And that the reason for them being an M.I.A. for the past few days was because they did not have electricity and were not able to charge their phones. I was overjoyed when I finally heard from them. Second, is that the bayanihan (communal unity and cooperation) being displayed by my fellow Filipinos is simply astounding! You will see people from all walks of life helping one another and trying to alleviate the lives of those who were victimized by the nasty typhoon Ondoy. They set aside their statuses in the society and did not hesitate to lend a hand in giving out relief goods to all the casualties. Third, typhoon Pepeng a.k.a. Parma changed its course and spared the already wrecked Metro Manila. I’m continuously praying for my brothers and sisters in North Luzon, though, who are now suffering the harrowing effect of merciless Pepeng. May the Good Lord give them strength to accept what came about and zealous faith despite the tragedy. I know that God has His reasons for allowing all of this to happen, we just have to trust His heart even if we do not understand His ways. Lastly, I thank God that all of my loved ones, relatives, friends and colleagues are all safe and away from harm. Though some of my friends have lost their houses, at least no life was sacrificed and all that was lost were material possessions that are replaceable. I know that it will be very hard to start anew but God will provide everything that they will ever need. With that, I still want to say Thanks be to God for all these small blessings that have big impact in our lives.
